Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the treatment of choice for spider veins of the legs. A sclerosing agent, such as Sclerodex or Thrombojet, is injected into the unwanted vessel. The solution irritates the lining of the vessel causing it to collapse and stick together. This will prompt the body to reabsorb the vessel over a period of approximately six weeks. One to three treatments are needed to see full results.

It is recommended to wear support stocking to maintain results and prevent more spider veins.
